Just a few more of my favorite pillowcases. These past 3 years having an etsy shop have been a lot of fun for me. Besides decorating my home, this has been a great creative outlet as I am on year 8 of staying home with kids (my favorite job). Though my shop is on hold right now, it's a whole lot of fun to look back and reflect on all that was created, requested, & purchased all over the United States. To my surprise I have had over 200 sales. Who knew!?!? My favorite part of this whole endeavor is receiving pictures of my products in clients homes. Real people. Real joy. Thank you all for cheering me on in this journey. It's been special.

Pillowcases!

It's been a solid 2.5 years since I've added any content to this blog. Now that kids are back in school & life seems to slow down a bit, I wanted to do a little update. Mainly because we did a kitchen remodel & I'm so excited to gather our before & after pictures & share them with friends & family both near & far. So, here I leave you with some pillowcases that I did a few years back for my shop that were a lot of fun and brought me great joy to create with my mom. Blessings to you and yours in 2017. Pillowcases with a purpose.

I have thoroughly enjoyed making and sharing scrap banners with this sweet little IG/FB and blog community over the past two months. Y'all are great! I will continue to sell scrap banners in my shop and take custom orders time to time but I want to share with you a new little crafting journey that I am about to embark on and would love for you to come along with me. My mom and I are now creating standard size pillowcases that are completely inspired by and in memory of a friend. Her name is Sara. After a long battle with cancer- multiple surgeries, hospital stays, chemo treatments, hair loss and pain- she went home to be with her Savior.  Sara was PURE joy. Throughout her battle, she wanted God's love to be shown through her.  During her frequent stays at UCSF Medical Center, one way she chose to serve those around her was to deliver fun pillowcases to children that were spending the majority of their time in bed.  I want to remember the joyful sweetness that she radiated, so for every three pillowcases I sell, one will be delivered to children at Seattle Children's hospital. Sara inspires me and I hope her story can continue to spread joy and love; one pillowcase at a time.

I don't have much time to post let alone get a shower in these days (though I do miss blogging and hope to be back at it in due time)! The story of my life these days. So, I will keep this short as I have one kiddo down for a nap, one jumping on the couch and one about to make his way home from school. I have been busy creating a little shop on etsy and selling fabric banners and about to dive into pillow making (I'll be back with more details on that!). I have thoroughly enjoyed crafting and creating and meeting a sweet little community of momma crafters! Capri's Nursery

Finally, some pictures of this sweet little oasis. I love Capri's room. It's soft, sweet and whimsical. Justin and I really enjoyed painting her room and daydreaming of this unknown little girl kicking in my belly that would soon be sleeping in here. Okay, so really she is in the bassinet next to me still...but soon she will be in her big girl room. And if any of you know me well, this is completely shocking. I'm not sure if she is still sleeping next to me because she is a little girl that I want to protect, if it's because she may be my last baby and I want to soak it up or if I'm lazy and don't want to walk to her room to nurse her. It may be all of the above. She will be half a year old next week so I decided it was about time to share her room with you but I have this big problem of starting a project and not quite completing it. It's awful. That's why I haven't posted pictures till now. This room is about 90% of the way there. I didn't want to show you an uncompleted room but I decided I should just be real and let you all know that I NEVER have it together. My house is a mess right now. Pictures can be so deceiving. There are multiple baskets of unfolded laundry (that have been there for weeks) that was slid into the hallway to make the room prettier for the camera. So, here it is in all of it's uncompleted glory!

A scrap banner for the little lady...

There are some serious projects goin' on round here! :) We are just 9 weeks (plus a few days) out from meeting our precious little bundle of love! This pregnancy has flown by but I'll be honest in saying it's getting much harder both physically and mentally. Hard to carry my boys or let them sit on my disappearing lap, tough to find the energy to clean house and play and my biggest challenge is keeping my mind engaged and strong. I need to remind myself daily that the longer she stays put the healthier and more ready she will be and that this process is a beautiful and miraculous one to go through. I do believe in the three G's of pregnancy: Growing to Glowing to Groaning. I don't want to groan but I've gotten good at it lately. I need to knock it off. :) 

Her sweet little room is coming along nicely. Everything is done but some wall art and bedding. I love having it all ready for her and it gets me ridiculously excited to meet her when I go and glance in there every evening. I still can't quite wrap my mind around a little girl that we will get to call our own! CANNOT WAIT. I made her a scrap banner to go above her crib. I made one awhile back for a baby shower I hosted here and I had no idea how easy they were (and I was going to add quick but that's not totally true). The longer and thicker the banner the longer it will take. This one took me a few hours, but truly an easy project. I had some leftover scraps that I incorporated and then bought 5 different prints in half a yard each. Just fold the half yard over and cut 2ish inch strips at the crease.

...Sterling took this picture of me tying on the scraps to a thin rope. Good job "S" man! Really that's all you do. Just tie the scraps in a knot and then hang. Simple enough!
