Be still my heart

{9 months}

We are absolutely smitten with our sweet Capri and are doing our best to soak in her baby days that are seeming to go by way too fast.

 Slow down my little love.

Capri's Nursery

Finally, some pictures of this sweet little oasis. I love Capri's room. It's soft, sweet and whimsical. Justin and I really enjoyed painting her room and daydreaming of this unknown little girl kicking in my belly that would soon be sleeping in here. Okay, so really she is in the bassinet next to me still...but soon she will be in her big girl room. And if any of you know me well, this is completely shocking. I'm not sure if she is still sleeping next to me because she is a little girl that I want to protect, if it's because she may be my last baby and I want to soak it up or if I'm lazy and don't want to walk to her room to nurse her. It may be all of the above. She will be half a year old next week so I decided it was about time to share her room with you but I have this big problem of starting a project and not quite completing it. It's awful. That's why I haven't posted pictures till now. This room is about 90% of the way there. I didn't want to show you an uncompleted room but I decided I should just be real and let you all know that I NEVER have it together. My house is a mess right now. Pictures can be so deceiving. There are multiple baskets of unfolded laundry (that have been there for weeks) that was slid into the hallway to make the room prettier for the camera. So, here it is in all of it's uncompleted glory!
Just a little scrap book paper, scissors, tape, string and an embroidery hoop and voila!

I love her alphabet wall that my dear friend Mary-Hayden made & gifted to me at my baby shower.
Capri's first baby booties made by my friend Laura.

Headbands and bows galore. My mom embroidered the animal ABC picture eons ago for one of my siblings when they were a babe.

Here is the room breakdown:
Curtains: IKEA
Frames: Hobby Lobby and old ones I painted
Scrap Banner: DIY
Hot air balloon mobile: DIY
Lamp: Goodwill DIY
Nightstand: my great grandma Kitty's (she'd be so proud!)
Chandelier: my great grandma Kitty's
Chair: Goodwill
Dresser: Goodwill DIY
Book shelf: DIY
Head Band and Bows organizer: DIY
Chevron Rug: Urban Outfitters
Crib: Graco Sarah Classic 4-1 convertible crib

I'm sure I will be back with the finishing touches later.....
....back to some projects!

documenting firsts

Today Capri had her first blowout which ended up turning into a photo shoot. I'm supposed to be resting but I couldn't help documenting such a precious little naked baby girl in a soft ruffled white blanket with the sun shining in. She only had to endure one wardrobe change - a headband. I went easy on her :) She is just a precious little thing to us. I am sure this is just one of many photo shoots...and one of many blowouts! We love you sweet Capri!

The last of the bump!

FYI - Just wrote a blog post and somehow deleted it so here is the quick version of what I had wrote:

1. I am just over 38 weeks pregnant.
2. I am SO ready to be done being pregnant. I've been struggling with some bad pinched nerves in my lower back and carpel tunnel in my hands. Also, I won't mind having my normal wardrobe back. :)
3. With that said I want to make sure I proclaim my thankfulness for pregnancy. I am grateful God has given us three wonderful children (even though I hardly know the third). I am soaking in all of these last kicks, swirls and hiccups in my belly....as this may be our last.
4. We will meet little miss in 6 days or less.
5. The boys can't wait to meet her (Sterling tells her all sorts of things and even sings a song or two to her).
6. We have installed her car seat and have hospital bags packed 90% of the way.
7. I'm not sure I will be able to sleep the night before my c-section but am hoping I somehow can.
8. I hope to get pictures of the nursery up this week but may just wait till she is in it :)
9. I had a baby shower this last week and was extremely blessed by so many wonderful woman. Thank you Mary-Hayden, Alissa, Kristy and many more for outdoing yourselves in blessing me and baby girl! I seriously have the sweetest collection of headbands and bows and little girl books! Can't wait to show you all!
10. I had my last prenatal apt last week where they did a growth ultrasound just to make sure she was big enough and she weighed in at 7lbs 2oz. We will see how accurate that is.
10. Our little lady has a name...we think! We are waiting to see her and then will make our final decision out of 4 names ...though we have one that is a favorite.

Here is the last of the baby bump pictures (left - Sterling talking to her and saying "you are so wonderful baby sister" and on the right - a very tired me after we went out to dinner). I don't know why everyone has been telling me I look so small, these pictures prove y'all wrong! I've got a torpedo!

Prayers on Thursday are very appreciated - I am always a little anxious and fearful to go through a c-section again. Thank you!

A sip and see tea for Penelope Kate

We have quite the baby boom at Life church right now. In a few months there will have been 10 babies born within a year of each other and 9 out of ten are girls. Lots of pink, ruffles and lace...lovin' it! Kristy Jenkins hosted a wonderful sip and see tea for Briita and Penelope. It was beautiful. Thanks for opening up your home and having great vision for a sweet baby shower Kristy! Penelope is absolutely beautiful and made me even more ready to meet my little lady. Here are some pictures of yesterdays tea:

Congratulations Jesse & Briita on one sweet baby girl and to big brothers Abram and Rodderick! Love you guys!

28 weeks!

28 weeks down with just 11 to go. This pregnancy is flying by. I am convinced it's because I have two little rascals to chase/discipline/play with the majority of the day. I had a 3 hr apt this morning doing the routine glucose test. Did you know they changed it? Beware! You go in for a blood draw (on an empty stomach), drink the glucose drink, sit for an hr, get your blood drawn again, sit for an hr and then do a third blood draw. Say what?! If any of you know me, you know I am a complete weenie when it comes to needles. I wasn't a big fan but I appreciate how thorough my midwife clinic is. They ultimately want to take care of us prego's and make sure all is well with mom and baby. I was able to finish a book (I only had 3 chapters left) that I started a long time ago last year. Can I say that I've already finished a book for 2013? I got through my apt and unashamedly stuffed my face afterwards with a burger, fries and coffee. Thanks mom and dad for watching my little men. They sure love being at their Mimi and Poppi's house!
I actually really dislike taking pregnancy pictures. They are awkward. Can you read my awkwardness? I do it only for documenting. I love seeing old pictures of my mom pregnant with us kiddos so I assume my kids will think it's neat. Anywho. Here is the belly. Getting nice and big. She is really starting to grow and become extremely active in there. I can feel little elbows and knees and I love it. We now have a tentative c-section date, her heartbeat is strong and I am measuring on track. All is well and I feel very blessed that my body can be a cozy home to another baby.

Look at this wild man's hair! He kind of needs a haircut but has been telling me he wants it longer (I think to avoid the haircut). He is sure sweet and loves to take pictures with his mama!
I hope you all had a fun and safe New Years Eve! We were in bed by 10 but woke up at midnight because of explosives going off. Gosh we are getting old. Or maybe we are still incredibly young but in a really tiring stage of life?! I think I'll go with the latter.
