my first Olive grove post

I am really excited to finally share this blogging endeavor with you all. I have been working on the olive grove for awhile now with the help of my friend and partner in crime also known as my husband, Justin. He supports me in all of my frilly decorating silliness and I just adore him for that. I have been blogging for 4 years now on a personal blog and there I found myself blogging about projects around the house, the things I re-purpose and the many crafts I get myself in to just as much or more than family life. I one day decided on creating a blog specifically focused on those things alone. I will continue blogging on my personal blog about our life and my sweet kiddos. I dream of owning my own little shop someday or at least contributing my crafts to sell at a shop somewhere. This is a little jump start to that dream.

I am a lover of all things decorating, crafting, DIY projects, re-purposing, thrift store shopping, etc etc. I am here to share all of those fun things with you plus some other random topics that I enjoy and maybe inspire a few of you along the way in hopes that you will want to make your house/dwelling space a home. Check out all the tabs along the top of the page to learn more about the olive grove.

To kick off the olive grove I am going to do a giveaway! Who doesn't love something free? I have this adorable stencil that I used to stencil 19 table cloths for a friends wedding and she let me keep it afterwards! Thanks Lauren! You can find it HERE on etsy! It is a beautiful French stamp postmark from 1907 for the Pope's palace in Avignon. I just love it and have been waiting to use it for something! I have stenciled not ONE but TWO lovely pillows below. There will be TWO winners!! They are stenciled in a soft black on a tan lightweight fabric sewn on an 18"x18" pillow form. Would you like to get your hands on one of these? You can have three entries to this giveaway. They are:

1. Become a follower of the olive grove
2. Share my blog on your Facebook page and mention the giveaway &
3. Leave a comment telling me either a good book or movie to read or watch right now!
....and remember to tell me how many entries you have (if more than just following me on the sidebar)

Here are the pillows modeling on my deck...

I will put all your entries into a random generator and announce the winners on April 30th. Remember there are two pillows so there are two winners...who doesn't like better chances at winning? Now, if I can have enough motivation to go down to my craft room and make one of these for my own living room!

Thanks for joining this journey with me!!!!

  1. Well I will be the first to say YAY! Cannot wait to get even more ideas and guidance from the master decorator :) I love all your ideas and projects and I can't wait to see more! A great classic movie and one of my favorites is To Catch A Thief, who doesn't love Alfred Hitchcock and of course Cary Grant :)

  7. I'm reading a fabulous book called Fall of the Giants. It's a historical fiction account of how WWI started and it has characters you are so connected to their stories you don't want to do anything but read the book! My parents, sister and her husband, and my grandma have all gone through this book and now it's my turn. They all rave about it. I'm glad that you're starting this blog with your adorable ideas! I hope it's a wonderful and encouraging outlet for you!

  15. I love this Sarah! You are so talented...and adorable! :o) A good book would be Animal, Vegetable, Miracle. It so amazing and totally opens one's eyes to the value of eating local food and supporting the economy via the food industry within a community, as well as great recipes and tips on gardening. And I'm totally sharing this on facebook as well as these two things. :o)
